The field is situated next to Onesty and University Halls, in the middle of the University’s sports complex. This blue surface, one of very few in the country, is made to provide contrast and visibility to make the ball more noticeable. Turf Field has hosted multiple ACC and NCAA games in the past, such as the ACC Championship and the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament in 2009 and 2010.  

The US Olympic field hockey team additionally played an exhibition match against Argentina at the Turf Field on June 18, 2012.  Turf Field is primarily used for field hockey, but men’s and women’s lacrosse have also used the field for ACC and NCAA competitions.
