Right off the highway and west of Charlottesville is Misty Mountain Campground, which is Just far enough away from the hubbub of a busy city to enjoy some peace and quiet, but close enough to drive into town for a bite to eat or shopping. All camping things can be found here whether you need a place to park your RV or prefer to rough it by pitching a tent. If you are looking for something a little less primitive than a tent, cabins are also available.
Route 151 leading to a multitude of Breweries, Wineries, and distilleries is a quick ride down the road. Hiking trails, Humpback Rock, and scenic views are mere minutes away.
While the campground is conveniently located to many of the area’s local attractions it also has several of its own amenities. Here at the campground is a recreational building with banquet seating which can easily house a large group. Additionally, there are multiple playgrounds with areas designated for basketball, volleyball and horseshoes. There is also a pond for fishing, trails for hiking and hills for climbing.
