Klöckner’s grandstands offer seating for 3,600 plus an extra 3,500 people on the hillside, and the lighting system allows for illumination of the field and its surrounding areas. In addition to serving as the Cavaliers’ home court, Klöckner Stadium has hosted coaching clinics, state cup and high school championships, conference, regional and national intercollegiate contests and tournaments, US Soccer Federation events, and Olympic qualifiers. It has even been used as the training ground of the D.C. United Major League Soccer team and the location of the UVa football team’s Spring Game.
