James River Brewery is housed in a 19th century, brick tobacco warehouse in historic Scottsville. This small-town brewing house was selected in 2022 as Brewery of the Year for Virginia by the Virginia Restaurant Lodging Travel Association.
Beer is brewed on site delivering hoppy IPA’s, Hefeweizens, Porters, Brown and Blond Ales as well as American and Belgian Ales. For even more options ask about the seasonal and limited releases. Imagine sipping a Gingerbread Brown Ale with notes of ginger, molasses, and cinnamon snuggled down in this cozy hometown pub.
However, it is also fun to think about those summer days when you can tube down the nearby James River then meander into town for a refreshing Rambling River Amber Ale or a Tuber IPA. It is easy to make a day of it here. Enjoy a brew, head out one of the few restaurants within walking distance for a bite then head back for an evening of live music in the Beer Garden.
